 The
Glass Place
is a full service stained glass shop owned by Ruth Mahoney who has been
teaching, designing and fabricating stained glass and fused glass for over
twenty years and has been in the retail stained glass business for ten
years in Pittsburgh’s South Hills. The Glass Place
offers a wide variety of classes from beginning to advanced in both
traditional stained glass techniques and in glass fusing. The
Glass Place
handles the largest selection of art glass in the tri-state area including
glass manufactured by Bullseye, Uroboros, Spectrum, Kokomo,
Youghiogheny, Wissmach and Armstrong.
We offer all the supplies needed for the
stained glass artist; including, books, patterns, bevels, soldering
irons, solder, grinders, saws, lamp molds, forms and DiamondCrete for
stepping stones, mosaic supplies, all types and sizes of lead and zinc, a
complete line of fusing glass and supplies. We pride ourselves in
our excellent customer service and support. The
Glass Place
is open Monday through Saturday. We encourage customers to bring in
projects for “show and tell” as well as for help in completing them.
 The
Glass Place
designs and fabricates custom windows, lamps, and other decorative pieces
for your home or office. You are welcome to browse our website for
examples of the work we have done or you may call for references.
We specialize in custom work using designs suited to your personal décor
and satisfaction. Decorative items such as boxes, kaleidoscopes,
stepping stones, fused jewelry pieces, exquisite fused plates, etc., are
available at The Glass Place to purchase.
 The
classes we offer are kept small so that each person receives plenty of
hands-on experience and help from our teachers. The art of stained
glass is a constantly growing and changing forum. With the addition
of fused glass to our curriculum, we have expanded our classes to give our
customers ever increasing and exciting new pathways to explore. Our
schedule is posted on our website and is updated once a quarter. Click

specialized instruction for those who are interested in classes that are
