Stained Glass Classes
We are pleased to offer a selection of classes on stained glass techniques.
Class Plus - Thursdays from 10 am to noon
Running continuously.
This class is designed to give people an opportunity to work on projects in a structured environment.
Price: $25
Beginner/Refresher Stained Glass - 3 Sessions
No previous experience required.
If you haven't done glass for a while or would like a quickie Beginning Stained Glass class, this is for you! We will teach/review all of the basic instructions, including pattern layout, cutting glass, grinding, foiling, and soldering, while making a stained glass project with a maximum of 15 pieces. All materials and glass are included. All work is done in our studio so there is no need to purchase tools at this time.
Price: $175 (materials included)
Copper Foil Panel - 5 Sessions
Intermediate level. Some previous stained glass experience necessary.
This course instructs students who are continuing to pursue stained glass. Students will learn advanced copper-foil techniques by producing a panel suitable for hanging or installation. Student must have previous stained glass experience and will need to own basic tools.
Price: $190 tuition + materials
Panel Lamp - 5 Sessions
Previous stained glass experience necessary. Student must have own tools.
During this course, students will learn techniques and tips for producing a panel lampshade. As some work at home is required, students must have their own tools. It is recommended that the pattern and glass be chosen before class begins.
Price: $175 tuition + materials
Tiffany Style Form Lamp - 5 Sessions
Advanced levels. Student must have own tools and previous experience.
Create a Tiffany-style lampshade that you or someone in your family will treasure for years to come. Students will learn the techniques required to create a masterpiece. Previous stained glass experience is necessary and student must own basic tools. The class will meet five times over an extended period. Classes will be scheduled as requested. Form and pattern should be chosen prior to class.
Price: $175 tuition + materials
Lead Came Panel - 5 Sessions
Advanced level. Previous stained glass experience necessary.
This course instructs students on the use of lead came for a large panel. The class includes a free pattern or student may work on their own design (which must have teacher approval prior to first class). Students must have previous stained glass experience and will need to own basic tools.
Price: $175 tuition + materials
Box Class - 3 Sessions
Previous stained glass experience necessary. Students must have own basic tools.
Learn the techniques in constructing a box with a hinged lid. Students will use bevels for the sides of the box and copper foil design for the top.
Price: $135 tuition + materials
Kaleidoscope Class - 3 Sessions
Previous stained glass experience necessary. Students must have own basic tools.
Many people are fascinated by the wonderful patterns created by the mirrors of the kaleidoscope. Learn to make one for yourself or give as a gift. You will learn how to use lead-free solder and also decorative solder touches to make your kaleidoscope unique.
Price: $135 tuition + materials
Decorative Soldering - 1 Session
Previous experience necessary.
A touch of drama! Learn the art of decorative soldering to enhance your projects. Understand how the thickness of your glass and solder affect your design. Glean valuable information about solder, copper foil, overlays, floating solder, flux, soldering iron tips and temperature controls. Please bring your own soldering iron.
